BUKIT MERTAJAM: A horrific accident claimed the life of 21-year-old Lee Zi Rou when a container fell from a lorry and crushed her vehicle. The tragic incident unfolded on Jalan Bukit Tengah on Wednesday (Nov 13) at 9:30am.

A Mother’s Fight for Justice

Lee’s mother, Lim Sheau Ling, 42, is seeking legal action against those responsible. “My daughter is gone, but her death cannot be in vain. Justice must be served to prevent this from happening again,” she said tearfully.

Support from Authorities

Human Resources Minister Steven Sim Chee Keong visited the grieving family to express his condolences and confirmed that financial aid would be extended through Socso.

A Painful Goodbye

Lee, remembered for her kindness and hardworking nature, made a distressing final call to her mother. “Mummy, it hurts so much, please help me,” she said. Tragically, Lim arrived too late to save her daughter.

Financial Aid and Support

Minister Sim revealed that Lee had been contributing to Socso since October 2022. Her family will receive RM3,000 for funeral costs, RM913.50 in monthly financial aid, and additional counselling and legal support.

A Family Torn Apart

The family will bid farewell to Lee during her cremation on Sunday (Nov 17) at the Berapit Crematorium. Her death has left a lasting impact on her family and friends, who continue to mourn her loss.
