KUALA LUMPUR: In a troubling case at the Ampang Sessions Court, a lorry driver pleaded not guilty to sexually assaulting his young daughter.
The 41-year-old is accused of assaulting the 13-year-old girl at their Hulu Langat home at two separate times: once in mid-October 2023 and again on August 21 this year.
Due to the severity of the allegations, which fall under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offenses Against Children Act 2017, Deputy Public Prosecutor Norhashimah Hashim argued against granting bail, citing the ongoing risk to the victim, given the familial ties and shared household.
