KUALA LUMPUR: A total of RM42mil was allocated for landscape maintenance in Putrajaya from 2014 to 2023, as revealed in the Dewan Rakyat.
RM42mil Maintaining 1,873 Hectares of Public Parks
Dr. Zaliha Mustafa, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories), stated that the budget covered 1,873 hectares of green spaces, including popular public parks such as Taman Saujana Hijau, Taman Botani, and Taman Wetland.
Key Locations Under Maintenance
These areas also include Taman Rimba Desa, Taman Rimba Alam, Taman Pancarona, Taman Putra Perdana, Taman Warisan Pertanian, Taman Wawasan, Taman Selatan, Jalan-jalan Protokol, buffer zones, residential neighborhoods, and a lakefront that covers 38% of Putrajaya.

Additional RM2.6mil for ASEAN Chairmanship Preparations
Furthermore, RM2.6mil was spent on upgrading and landscaping efforts to prepare for Malaysia’s ASEAN chairmanship in 2024.
