KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 26 — A jeweller was robbed of 3kg of gold today by six masked men outside his gold processing store in Ipoh, Perak. The daylight robbery occurred along Jalan Bendahara, around 9:30am. The victim, who was about to enter his vehicle, was believed to be on his way to deliver jewellery to a customer when the shocking incident took place.

Sudden Attack by Armed Robbers

As he prepared to drive off, the jeweller was unexpectedly surrounded by the robbers. They were armed with knives and machetes, and their faces were hidden behind masks. The jeweller recalled the event happening so quickly that he was unable to react or defend himself. His focus was solely on avoiding harm during the attack.

Vehicle Collision in the Midst of the Robbery

The jeweller shared that one of the suspect’s vehicles struck the back of his car during the robbery attempt. He managed to avoid a more serious collision but sustained minor injuries to his leg as a result of the impact. Despite the brief altercation, he was fortunate that the situation didn’t escalate further.

Robbers Used Two Vehicles to Trap the Victim

According to the jeweller, the robbers used two vehicles to box in his car, preventing him from escaping the scene. With the victim unable to move his car, they proceeded to overpower him, stealing the 3kg of gold he was carrying. The careful planning and coordination of the robbers made the robbery happen swiftly, leaving little chance for intervention.

Police Confirmation and Ongoing Investigations

Ipoh’s district police chief, ACP Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad, confirmed the robbery. He assured the public that investigations are currently ongoing to track down the perpetrators. The police are reviewing security footage and gathering witness statements to identify the suspects involved.
