Malaysia Wins First Medal at Paris Olympics

Malaysia’s men’s doubles pair, Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik, known as the “Xie/Su” duo, secured Malaysia’s first medal at the Paris Olympics by winning the bronze in badminton.

They triumphed over Denmark’s Astrup and Rasmussen in a thrilling match with scores of 16-21, 22-20, 21-19.

This victory marks a historic achievement as Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik become the first Malaysian men’s doubles team to win medals in consecutive Olympics.

The match saw the Malaysian pair overcoming a first-game loss and saving multiple match points in the second game before clinching the victory in the third game. This bronze medal adds to Malaysia’s proud Olympic history.
