Lithium Battery Fire Traps Woman in Hualien

In Hualien County, Taiwan, a fire broke out on Sunday morning, likely caused by a charging electric scooter’s lithium battery.

The fire quickly spread from the garage, trapping a woman on the third floor. Firefighters arrived promptly and rescued the woman, who suffered smoke inhalation and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The fire was brought under control within 30 minutes. Preliminary investigations suggest that the fire started from the lithium battery, but the exact cause and extent of property damage are still under investigation.
